It's no surprise that moms are busy individuals who are
responsible for the day-to-day workings of their family and home.

health and fitness you will be

- Run up a flight of stairs. You can either run up the stairs one step at a time or two at a time. Then try doing jump squats going up the stairs. Jump squats done on a flat surface are hard, but doing them going up the stair are intense. Then mix in ten jumping jacks at the top and ten lunges at the bottom.
- Dance to your favorite song, 4 minutes of cardio and fun! It will get your blood pumping and have you feeling like a teenager again in minutes. And at the end of the song, if you're game, do it again or play a different song. Have fun with it and get your workout in at the same time. And if your kids are home, get them dancing to and teach your kids the joy of dance.
- Power Housecleaning (of course to your favorite tunes.) Make the most out of doing the dishes or vacuuming the house, and put some muscle into your cleaning, or do it quickly to work up a sweat. When you sweep, use your arms and feel your shoulders and arms work. The idea is to make it a game and before you know it, your house is clean and you've worked up a sweat.
- Power walk up a hill or on a treadmill -- using a 15 percent grade -- for 8 minutes. Don't hold onto the treadmill rails and instead pump arms while swinging. Work in one or two intervals of speed work as well to strengthen your lunges. The intervals should last between 30 to 60 seconds and should feel pretty intense. The idea is to do short intervals of high intensity exercise. The more you move, the more calories you burn.
